You have just enrolled in a cartridge recycling program and now you are looking or some tips on how you can make it easy to remember to properly dispose of your used ink. Fortunately, there are plenty of ways that you can make it easy to remember to send each and every cartridge off to ink cartridge recycling land!
Starting something new can always pose some challenges. The key to overcoming these challenges is to remind yourself how you can avoid the wrong end result. Reminding yourself to recycle your ink cartridges is easy, especially when you leave yourself plenty of visual clues. Obviously, the best place to leave yourself a visual clue to recycle your ink is on your printer. There is nothing wrong with posting a bright pink sticky note reminding yourself to recycle your ink right on top of your printer. This is the easiest way to remember to keep that cartridge out of the trash and to place it with the other cartridges destined for recycling.
But, you should always have a back up plan in place should that sticky note get removed accidentally or if you did not happen to notice it. Your back up plan should consist of some other type of trigger that will remind you to recycle that used cartridge. You can place another note on the new cartridge that you have reminding you to recycle the old cartridge. Or, place a note by your waste basket reminding you to keep your cartridges out of the garbage.
Once you start recycling your cartridges it will be easier for you to keep up with. Those first few times that you change your cartridge might be a challenge but then it will become second nature to you to send your cartridges off to their proper fate.
